Mr. Jonathan C. Clipper, Chief Executive Officer - Mr. Jonathan C. Clipper was educated in the UK and received an MBA at Oxford as Bermuda's Rhodes scholar. He spent 13 years at Chase Manhattan in both London and in Singapore as a Credit and Marketing Officer handling financial institutions, banks, insurers and investment managers. In 1990, he joined Citibank London in their Insurance Banking Division, spending the next 12 years handling London, Bermuda and Scottish reinsurers, brokers and life offices, and then moved on to Hong Kong for two years as Citibank’s Regional Insurance Head. In this role he handled relationships from Korea to Australia, Thailand to Taiwan. In addition to his regional insurance role, he served as Non-Bank Financial Institutions Head in Hong Kong overseeing combined revenues from both divisions exceeding $100 million annually. In September of 2002, he returned to Bermuda at the request of the CEO and COO at the time to take up an executive position with The Bank of Bermuda. Following its take-over by HSBC in early 2004, he moved on to run his own financial services firm supplying independent directors for exempt companies and funds. In early 2010, he incorporated Headland Management Ltd with view to moving the business forward. Mr. Jonathan Clipper joins First Bermuda Group as Chief Executive Officer effective July 2010.
Mr. Michael Schroter, Executive Vice President, Director -- is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. He began his career as a director of his family's international group of apparel companies. Mr. Schroter subsequently founded his own management consulting firm, serving as an advisor for numerous corporate clients in industries ranging from financial services to the Arts Council of Great Britain, several of these being under the initiative of the Department of Trade's Enterprise Initiative Scheme. In 1991, Mr. Schroter moved to Bermuda where he joined FBG. He serves as a director of several companies. Today, he is head of FBG's capital markets operations, focusing, inter alia, on fundraising and BSX listings for global corporate clients, fundraising and business planning. Mr. Schroter is a graduate of the University of Manchester (1963).
Mr. Douglas Selley, Chief Operating Officer -- Mr. Selley is a British/Bermudian citizen and is a finance graduate of Babson College. His career began with a brief term at Cooper & Lines Accounting before moving to the Bank of Bermuda in their internal audit division, later moving into Corporate Loans. In 1989 he joined the Bermuda Monetary Authority as Supervisor, and later, Manager of the Banking and Financial Institution Supervision Division. Mr. Selley returned to the Bank of Bermuda in 1994 as Assistant Manager, Commercial Loans, later transferring to the Bank's Investment Department as Manager, Operations and from there to Business Development Manager, VP Retail. He joined the Company in 2003. He serves as a Director of several unlisted Companies.
Ms. Pamela J. Mahoney, Chief Financial Officer – is a Certified Management Accountant and a member of the Society of Management Accountants of Nova Scotia, Bermuda and the Caribbean. Her career began at Charles Kempe & Co. as an accounting student, before moving to the Bank of Bermuda as a management trainee, and then joined the bank’s Treasury Operations area. In 1988, she joined the accounting department of the Bermuda Monetary Authority as Officer and decided to pursue her CMA, passing the exams in the summer of 1993 and was fully certified in the fall of 1994. In 1995, Ms. Mahoney left to join the Bank of N.T.Butterfield’s finance department. In late 1998, she joined ACE Ltd and their corporate accounting team, and in 2001, left to join Partner Re Ltd. She joined FBG in October 2006 as Financial Controller and was promoted to CFO in September 2009. Ms. Mahoney is a Business graduate of Virginia Intermont College where she also earned a B.A. in Horsemanship, Teaching concentration.
