FBG has access to a wide range of Credit Suisse and Penson Financial Services, Inc. ("Penson") investment services designed to meet our Personal, Corporate, Trust and Institutional Clients' needs:
Equities
In addition to our capabilities to assist with BSX trading and listings and brokerage, trading and settlement of international equity and fixed income securities, through Penson, we now offer Credit Suisse equity products. Credit Suisse engages in a broad range of activities for institutional investors around the world, including sales, research, trading, brokerage and market-making in the US and international equity and equity-related securities, options and futures markets. Credit Suisse's activities also cover both exchange-traded and over-the-counter traded securities, including American Depositary Receipts, restricted stocks, equity repurchases, block trade executions, equity derivatives and convertible securities.
Fixed Income
We offer Credit Suisse's Fixed Income products which enable FBG's clients to achieve a new standard of client service. Credit Suisse presents one unified group to handle all Fixed Income cash and derivative products, assisting clients in managing their assets and liabilities. Their product and regional team structure allows us to focus on delivering product-based solutions to the constantly changing goals of our corporate and institutional customers -- regionally and worldwide. Together, we have expanded our global penetration and reach by committing ourselves to understanding the needs of our customers and channeling the vast resources of Credit Suisse to meeting those needs.
Prime Services
Through our business partners at Credit Suisse, we provide our clients with access to global prime brokerage services.
Probably the most important criterion in choosing a prime broker is gaining added value you anticipate from the relationship.
By placing all of their equity finance offerings under one roof - prime brokerage, securities borrowing and lending and secured financing. our clients enjoy beneficial synergies far greater than those attached to any individual product offering.
Specific products include:
- Collateralized margin loans;
- Arranged financing;
- Total return swaps;
- Asset swaps;
- Contracts for differences;
- Equity repos;
- Financing on non-traditional products such as Regulation D private placement paper; and
- Capital raising for hedge funds looking to add new investors.
Research
First Bermuda Group is an External Asset Manager with Credit Suisse. Through this arrangement we are able to provide our clients access to the resources of Credit Suisse, which provides highly respected equity, fixed income, foreign exchange, economics and strategy research. On a global basis, Credit Suisse has more Institutional Investor ranked analysts than any other firm in the world and its research groups are highly ranked in the world's major markets. Credit Suisse has heavily invested in its research products in order to provide clients with value-added products, and through the 2002 acquisition of HOLT Value Associates, a leading provider of independent research and valuation services to asset managers, clients are provided a "state-of-the-art" valuation platform and database covering approximately 18,000 companies in 28 countries.
Full Service Retail Brokerage: US, Canada and Bermuda
FBG, through our subsidiary First Bermuda Securities (BVI) Ltd. ("FBS") in conjunction with our partner Penson Financial Services, Inc. provides a full service brokerage in the United States. FBS is an NASD registered broker/dealer and offers our clients a traditional brokerage model of investment. Through Penson we provide our customers
